- Stay in Region 8. You can drive anywhere in Leyte, Samar and Biliran. Taking the car on a ferry or boat to another island is not allowed — for island trips, park at the port and take the boat.
- Fuel up in town. The car comes with a full tank; return it full. Fill up in the bigger towns before long stretches.
- Download offline maps. Phone signal can be weak between towns.
